I’m not sure if you folks are aware, but I have a pretty popular blog and facebook page all about South Jersey. I’ve published two books and I have had over 1 million views (and heading to reach 2 million next year in 2015!) It is not easy managing a blog (oh, and I don’t earn a cent from it, nor have any advertisers.) I feel like I’ve been blogging for a lifetime and recently just had to take a little break to recharge my batteries… and then get back to what I like to do!
However, I’d also like to make some money and support my blog and adventures so I created this photography business (licensed and insured, fyi). It gives me the best of both worlds! Making a few bucks, photography (which I love) whether landscapes, buildings or people and I am able to get out there and explore/write. Plus, I am able to stay home with my kids and help to support our family. It’s a win win in my book. I like people. I am a people person and find great joy when I see someone’s face light up. Especially, with photos that I captured of their children or family.
I also enjoy writing.. I love hearing stories and emails from people who have visited the places I’ve written about and never saw before.
This shows my highest day from this year from my blog. It shows that I know my locations and I know South Jersey!
Since I write about places to seek out in South Jersey, I have quite an advantage when it comes to locations to photograph at. I take little notes of the time of day and how the sun shines in a particular place and I travel all over South Jerseyland… From the Delaware River to the Atlantic Ocean there is always something interesting that I encounter. Traveling… and adventures are what I truly enjoy as my hobby.
Here are just a handful of my scouted photography locations. Maybe you will recognize them… Maybe not.. I have hundreds of them and there are quite a few I don’t even want to post online.. but check some of these beautiful places out below!
Wildflowers grow along this pathway throughout spring to fall.
Gorgeous tree-lined pathway gives an almost surreal feel.
Many of the tree-lined streets I have scouted look a bit similar to this. These roads can make for some beautiful photos.
This location has a lake, neat winding roads and wild wisteria grows throughout it. It’s a neat rustic setting.
An old train track… now hiking path. There is a stream, fields and of course these gorgeous trees. It’s a great location for outdoor photographs.
Private Beaches With The Most Gorgeous Sunsets….
Below, would be great for some nice family photos.
A somewhat popular location. However, you have to know good times to go.. and I do 🙂 Sunsets are outstanding.
An old fishing pier standing the test of time. It would be a nice beach backdrop for photographs.
Another private beach.
Somewhat of my private go-to beach. I love this location for its quiet and its sunsets. Dolphins can sometimes be spotted here.
This is a beautiful turquoise lake setting located in Camden County.
Definitely something unique. I see couple or family photos taken here and is perfectly legal, btw.
Everyone knows this place, but I like it for it’s rustic style, the sunsets are amazing and there is a beach area for great beach portraits.
Beach area at East Point Lighthouse.
A barn that I have private access to. There is also a wildflower meadow and waterway on the property. Imagine photos against those teal barn doors or photographs along that pathway.
Some folks like brick for their background. This is a nice quiet setting and is quite historic.
Rustic inspired red door.
A rustic style barn and historic site. Great location for some unique photographs.
One of my favorite locations in the area because it offers it all. The rustic barn style look, a lake and some beautiful fields.
Beautiful stone ruins would be an understatement. I see some beautiful photographs being taken here.
This boardwalk will be all yours. There are also private beach areas. Atlantic City can usually be spotted in the distance.
Sunset at a favorite nature preserve.
Beautiful sunsets await at this site. It’s one of my favorite spots.
This bridge is located at a beach near the shore area. There are many private beach areas for capturing some beautiful photos.
This is a historic truss bridge and gives a rather unique and weathered background look for photographs.
I see many couples or families posing at this serene location.
This rustic inspired trestle style bridge spans a lake in Burlington County.
New dock and bridge overlooking a gorgeous river.
Beautiful semi-private road with bridge. Stream with lily pads all around.
AND To Top It Off… Some Different And Unique Outdoor Locations…
This place is located in South Jersey, but you would never know it. It is located in Camden County and a lake resides on the premises.
Wildflowers every spring/summer at this lake.
Flowers are everywhere at this shore destination and not one which you would think!
Marshlands in the country.
Orchards to which I have an agreement with the landowner.
This doesn’t look like South Jersey, it looks more like Ireland.. but it is right here in our backyard. Beautiful sunsets can also be seen here.
Beautiful pine trees for a Christmas inspired winter shoot.
This field grows wildflowers in the summer months. It is spectacular.
Rustic fence and the grounds are historic as well, but not often known throughout South Jersey.
A field where I also have permission to shoot.
Imagine this location lit up at night with the Philly skyline behind you.
This is one gorgeous lake… the colors in the fall are absolutely stunning and would be a great location for autumn sessions.
Plus, don’t forget… We have our own private terraced garden and babbling stream at our Shooting Star Photography Studio. We can offer you full privacy!
I will write about my garden in the future. I promise! It was once a feature on county and state tours so you know it is something truly magical! Clients who have visited agree and can’t wait to come back.
I also look forward to posting more content on this blog!
Best and Happy New Year!
