Cherry Blossom Portraits in Cherry Hill, NJ

A Spring Sisters Session in Bloom

There is a very small window every year when Cherry Hill turns soft pink.

For about a week — sometimes less — the cherry trees bloom, the light shifts, and everything feels quiet and cinematic. That’s when I love photographing children here.

This session was two sisters, a warm spring evening, and those perfectly blooming cherry blossoms in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

No props. No chaos. Just movement, laughter, and that soft golden light filtering through the petals.

Why Cherry Hill Is One of My Favorite Spring Locations

Cherry Hill is one of those South Jersey spots that surprises people. Tucked into the suburbs are pockets of blooming trees that feel almost storybook in the spring.

The blush tones of the blossoms pair beautifully with soft pastels, especially blues. For this session, the girls wore coordinating blue couture gowns that complemented the pink blooms without overpowering them.

That balance matters.

When wardrobe works with the environment instead of competing with it, everything feels elevated and intentional.

Movement Always Wins

If you know me, you know I don’t just pose and call it a day.

I let kids move.

Twirling in dresses. Running between trees. Laughing at absolutely nothing. Those are the frames that feel real years later.

One of my favorite moments from this session was watching the older sister gently guide the younger one through the blossoms. It wasn’t staged. It wasn’t forced. It was just them being sisters.

That’s the part parents always tell me means the most.

The Light in Spring Is Different

There’s something about spring light in South Jersey. It’s softer. Warmer. A little more forgiving.

During golden hour, the sun filtered through the cherry blossoms and wrapped around the girls in the most beautiful way. That glow you see isn’t heavy editing. It’s timing.

Cherry blossom sessions are 50% location, 50% light, and 100% timing.

Miss the bloom window and it’s gone until next year.

Cherry Blossom Portraits in South Jersey

If you’re looking for cherry blossom portraits in Cherry Hill or anywhere in South Jersey, the key is planning early. The bloom window usually lasts about a week, sometimes less depending on weather.

These sessions are ideal for:

  • Children’s portraits

  • Sisters sessions

  • Birthday portraits

  • Spring family photos

And because it’s such a short season, availability fills quickly once the trees start to open.

Spring is fleeting. Childhood even more so.

And when the two line up under blooming cherry trees?

That’s magic.
