The Classic Pat’s Steaks Versus Geno’s Steaks— Photo Shoot
Pat’s VS Geno’s Steaks… Is this really a think to compare?
I did this photo shoot a LONG TiME ago. However, it came up on my timeline and it’s still classic, even 5 years later. There’s nothing more timeless/classic than Pat’s Steaks and Geno’s in Philly.
Two traditions.. across the street. One the original, one who use to work for “the original” and obviously needed to go out with a bang (Hence the much “louder” lights.
Pat's King of Steaks and Geno's Steaks are two iconic cheesesteak shops located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Both of these establishments are well-known for serving up delicious cheesesteaks, but they have some differences.
Pat's King of Steaks is widely considered to be the originator of the cheesesteak sandwich. The shop was founded in 1930 by Pat Olivieri, who grilled up some steak and put it on a roll with some onions. Today, Pat's is located in South Philadelphia and is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike.
Geno's Steaks, on the other hand, was founded in 1966 by Joey Vento, who wanted to create a cheesesteak sandwich that was bigger and better than any other. Like Pat's, Geno's is located in South Philadelphia and has become an iconic spot for cheesesteak lovers.
When it comes to choosing between Pat's and Geno's, it really comes down to personal preference. Some people prefer Pat's cheesesteaks because of their more traditional preparation, while others prefer Geno's cheesesteaks because of their larger portions and unique flavor. Both shops use thinly sliced steak, onions, and cheese on a long roll, but the cheese options are slightly different (Provolone at Geno's, Cheez Whiz at Pat's).
It's also worth noting that both shops can be quite crowded, especially during peak hours, and the lines can be long. But for many people, the experience of waiting in line at one of these legendary cheesesteak shops is part of the fun. Ultimately, the best way to decide which one you prefer is to try them both and decide for yourself!
Who was the champion among these children? Was it Pat's or was it Geno's Steaks?
I think she likes her cheeseteak from Pat's in South Philly.
Getting ready for her cheesesteak. She's hungry at Geno's Steaks.
She's about to chomp down on her steak! Wit Wiz or wit out?
I think that Geno's steaks is the clear winner here. She couldn't even hold off to take this shot because it smelled so good. What is your favorite steak in South Philly?
The question always remains the same. Who makes the BEST cheesesteak? Wit Wiz or Wit Out? What’s your preference? Philadelphians have gotten into fistfights over who is best and others, would say, neither. There are many more great options to choose from in the city. Nonetheless, not many options open 24/7, open on every holiday, 365 days a week.
Fun in Philly!
We set off to South Philly to let these little ladies decide on who makes the best steak.. As you can see, there was a clear winner as a steak was wolfed down. Dressed in Neon Kisses designer duds, we set out for a fun adventure! The styling was on point!
It was such a fun shoot to do. We walked around and even found the neon graffiti lights. Did a little “dabbing” and enjoyed a nice evening in South Philly.
Cruising around South Philly having the time of our lives.
Relaxing at the new mural in South Philadelphia. There is so much to explore in this neighborhood!
We chose some neon glasses and crazy vibrant colors to capture the essence and vibe of our South Philly shoot.
Dabbing and have a great time! With friends! We really had a fun time walking around and creating some memories.. plus, stuffing our faces with cheesesteaks!
