A Little Girl, a Silver Dress, and a Unicorn She'll Never Forget
Some childhood memories aren't made with expensive toys or elaborate vacations.
Sometimes they're made standing in a field, wearing a silver dress that twirls with every step, while a unicorn quietly walks over as if they've known each other forever.
That's exactly what happened during this session.
She arrived with wide eyes and a smile that could barely contain her excitement. Every little girl dreams of meeting a unicorn at least once, but the magic isn't just in seeing one—it's in slowing down enough to truly experience the moment.
She gently brushed its mane, whispered little secrets into its ear, and laughed every time it nudged her shoulder looking for another treat. There wasn't any rush. No pressure to smile for the camera.
She simply got to be a little girl.
Those are always my favorite moments to photograph.
The silver dress caught the light beautifully, giving every image a soft, storybook feel. As the sun began to set, everything seemed to glow—the dress, the field, the unicorn's white coat, and most importantly, the pure joy on her face.
As photographers, we capture smiles every day.
But every once in a while, we get to capture wonder.
The kind of wonder that's becoming harder to find in a world filled with screens, busy schedules, and constant distractions.
A unicorn session isn't really about taking pictures.
It's about giving your child an experience they'll talk about long after the dress is hung back in the closet.
Years from now, she probably won't remember exactly what day it was.
But she'll remember that magical afternoon when she wore her beautiful silver dress and met a unicorn that made her believe, if only for a little while, that fairy tales might actually be real.
Those are the memories worth preserving.
