We've been very busy over here in South Jersey land. The weather has been absolutely beautiful this past week. We're getting that yummy fall light that every single photographer dies for. The kind of light you want to reach out and eat because it's so delicious!!! And the kind of light that makes you look gorgeous!!! We're sold out for the year! What a blessing, right? It's been a great year with our clients. I have loved every moment of it! We did originally keep this weekend open in the event of Halloween and also for potentionally peak foliage. It turns out, that it is looking like peak foliage this weekend. Hopefully, if the weather holds out!!! Every year around Halloween, it seems like we get a little rain as cooler weather starts to fly in. However, some years we get very lucky with gorgeous weather through November! Boys Clothing!

I always find boys clothing to be the most simple to coordinate. Why is that? I find it a bit more difficult when it comes to us ladies. Am I wrong?We have to make sure everything fits right. No bulges anywhere.. everything clean. Hair done. Nails done. Legs done. Wax done... check! check! check!Then we have to make sure we coordinate. The dreaded coordination. Honestly, colors do vary depending on scenery and season.For example, I probably wouldn't wear black on the beach, but you can definitely rock black in the city and/or even the forest. Red... is actually a great color. You can wear this practically everywhere even the beach... it's always a color that photographs well. Jewel and natural tones work well all the time.Magenta nope.. hardly ever photographs well. That is one color I am not too fond of and that does not photograph well at all. Don't even wear it. I am talking about the bright fuschia can see from space color.As I mentioned, picking out what to wear for women is tough! Phew!For boys it's simplicity. Grays, blues, blacks, mustards.whites, cream reds... all work wonderfully. Cute solid tones. Khakis, pants and even some jeans work. This is why I don't offer too many boys wear. I do have a tux and a few suits in various sizes, but I'm not going to typically shoot entire formal family portraits to which they will coordinate.This I find to be the perfect boys outfit.. I purchased it for my clients. Size 7.You can wear this in a field, a vintage session, something formal with the family, a city shoot, could even wear for a farm session with a cute newsboy cap attached. It's honestly the perfect out and can coordinate with anything.As our client, you have full access to our awesome wardrobe for your session! Vintage is life! Taken in Woodstown, NJ.

As I progress throughout the years (and hopefully, my skills are improving) as I'll never be satisfied. I have a thirst for knowledge and I take courses all throughout the year in how to better my photography.One thing I am truly adoring as of late, is vintage sessions. There is something timeless and magical about capturing something simple. Don't get me wrong, I do love the fancy dresses, but there's something about just staying with something simple. Simple and sweet. Neutral clothing, simple setting with beautiful light.. and then watch the magic happen. 

One thing with me is that I am a light lover. You'll see my lighting in every photo I edit or do.. Light is key. If you have crappy light, this can make or break your images. I am extremely OCD about my light, but it's one reason why folks hire me. It's literally all in the little details. One thing folks don't know is that I actually have a ton of vintage wear for my clients to use. I have locations all over South Jersey to use and can incorporate such simple clothing into these environments.

My goal by next year, is to offer simple farm sessions. Where kids can photograph with animals. There's nothing like the interaction of a child with an animal. Seeing their joy on their faces!! 

I have a workshop with Sujata, from But Natural Photography, out of England next month. I cannot wait to learn from her as she works with animals continuously. If you haven't seen her work, you need to give her a google. Her work is incredible! Every year, my photography friends and I get together for a carnival photo session! This was last year's. The previous year (2016) style was old time classic. I believe I made a blog post of it in the past!  Girls in almost a victorian look, boys on amusement rides and enjoying cotton candy.  It was a fun time! This past year, was a bit more challenging as this place was the most packed we have ever seen a carnival in New Jersey!  This year, cannot wait as have something sweet planned! I love carnivals. It is reminiscent of childhood. I love the lights and enjoy the laughter of kids with their families having the times of their life! There's nothing in this world sweeter! One thing I did love about this carnival session was how casual it was. If you have noticed, I like capturing kids who they are in the moment. I'm not very much into heavily processed skin or features. I am not into cheesy smiles. I want kids to be kids. I want parents to look back and see a beautiful image, but I don't want them to see their child's actual physical features changed. This is a big thing going on in the industry. Where folks are heavily dodging and burning their subjects, skin is losing texture. It's just not the way I would personally want to remember my own children. I want them to look natural and who they are. It's extremely important to me. I do, however, love a creative and dreamy image. I love color and vibrancy, but I also like simple. The outfits chosen from this shoot were from an Australian company called, Lulu Stars. We also used some tutu du monde pieces which I always find great pieces to add to any photographer's wardrobe. Tutu du monde clothing tends to work with any theme.  Enjoy the lights and colors of this carnival collection photo shoot. I tried to give it a more vintage feel and hope I have delivered. I cannot wait until this year's carnival shoot! It will be a blast!!!  Who knows? We may do a model call. Hopefully, we get a better place in New Jersey this time!!! Not as packed!!! However, the theme is going to be adorable!!! We cannot wait to share!!!
