Magic, Magic, Everywhere!

It's been a magical spring! All these blooms.. From cherry blossoms, dogwoods, tulip trees.. right down to tulips and daffodils. Color and blooms are exploding with life. One thing I have been enjoying mostly are the cherry blossoms! I can't wait to post some sneak peaks for everyone! They are truly beautiful and lovely!!! One thing I love to create, is magic. I love creating magic for every single client that comes my way. Below, examples of some of this magic and capabilities and these were taken over two years ago!!! It's amazing what you can do in the forest on a cold winter day.. to add color to the trees and as long as you have great light... magic can truly happen!    This time of year, I truly enjoy seeing the dead come to life.. We had a very cold winter and pretty cold spring considering years past. It's pretty incredible to drive around and see the blooming trees and life coming around full circle! Spring greens are coming in! The light changes to a more warm light... the sun sets at a later time (now we're at around 7:45pm).  This is the light I live for. I love it! I wanted to say bye bye to winter and HELLO SPRING SESSIONS IN SOUTH JERSEY!!! Can't wait to share the new work and meet new clients that have signed up for sessions this year! Life's Too Short... So Life Needs Unicorns!

Life's too short... so life truly needs unicorns!

 Unicorn sessions are a lot of work around here. They require a ton of time in preparation for things to go and run smoothly. Especially, with working with a live animal and to keep costs down for most since you have to rent the unicorn.. we have limited time to work with during these sessions.   Coordinating dresses, unicorn sashes horns.. We try and compliment to the season/theme/dresses/crowns! Every single unicorn session we do is unique in its own right. We're truly perfectionists! Our goal is to make every kid feel special, to truly make this a MAGICAL UNICORN EXPERIENCE for each and every child.You'll see whimsy and wonder.. and lots of cheer and laughs during these sessions. Most are surprised to see how friendly our unicorn is. A true gentle giant "unicorn." She's incredible in her own right. Miss Snowy... I can't imagine working with another unicorn.. because once you find something so special, you keep hold of it.  My motto lately is...Life's too short to even care at all. The popular song by Young The Giants-Cough Syrup. There's reasoning and meaning to this. Life's too short to sweat the small things. I am learning this day by day... I have realized these past few weeks that somethings are truly out of my control and am learning to try and let it go because I am sooo hard on myself. I have always been. I love giving 100% to everything.  My mother who is the other half to this business and my partner has been ill. So everything has fallen on me. We're busy. We have deadlines to make and clients sessions to fulfill. I always say that success is 90% of just showing up. It is. That's why even though have not been home this past week... whether at the hospital or with sessions with customers, I haven't given up. I got this. I CAN DO THIS. I've done it before and I may be solo for a bit. That's also OKAY.  A client of mine has been absolutely wonderful in helping and helped to step up to the plate for mini sessions. When it comes to full sessions, I can manage from here on out as I did this when I started. I AM TRULY grateful for the amazing community of support.. so that I can continue to keep going and keeping putting my best foot forward out there.Also, take a little whirl below at a cute sister session magical experience! NOT TOO BAD for JANUARY sessions. We got blessed with some pretty mild weather!  Depending on how mom does with her recovery and how these next few weeks go.. Our goal is to try and get another unicorn going by MAY. I truly appreciate your patience! We have had a lot of sessions pushed back because of blooms and weather this year.. and of course these customers are our first priority and obligation! BE THE CHANGE IN WHAT THIS INDUSTRY NEEDS.

I understand art is subjective. However, as artists we are continually critiqued. Some things invoke feeling… unpleasant or pleasant. There is a certain level where one must develop a tough skin… in order to thrive in this business. You need to realize that you won’t always be everyone’s cup of tea. 

When it comes to my own work and personality… I laugh at myself ALL THE TIME. It’s just how I am. I laugh at others, I laugh with others. It’s never really mean-spirited. I have so much to grow and if I post something… I want you to laugh. I want you to feel something. It’s okay to laugh at me. I can take it. Among friends, we laugh at each other. You have to laugh in this business.

   

INVEST IN GOOD MENTORS.

What I am trying to say is this isn’t kindergarten folks.  If you are new to this industry… latch onto folks who will build you up. RUN YOUR BUSINESSES PROFESSIONALLY. Treat customers right. Don’t play mind games. Don’t bully and learn to take critique with a grain of salt. However, sometimes in that critique is where you learn to do better. I listen to feedback from my customers all the time, as I truly do want their experience to be one of a kind.

  

Hire mentors that will help lift you up and not bring you down.. That want to see you continually improve and get better. If you are new and see this sort of behavior… learn to walk away and surround yourself with better teachers and mentors.  Follow positive folks. People who uplift others and not knock them down.

And most importantly.. never ever apologize for being YOU. Be the voice of change in this industry. I hope my little me… can eventually do that.. Help this industry to be better… because right now… it’s a sad state of affairs. However, it’s time to be the voice of change and invest in those who are there to help you grow as artists.

We had the pleasure of visiting the scenic Tall Pines in Sewell, NJ for a truly enchanting family photo session. The picturesque location offered beautiful light, great hiking paths, and lush greenery, providing an ideal setting for capturing timeless family moments.

Tall Pines State Park in Sewell is a picturesque haven nestled amidst towering trees and lush greenery. The park's serene ambiance and natural beauty offer a breathtaking escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. As sunlight filters through the tall pines (you’ll see how I capture light at this location), it creates a mesmerizing play of light and shadow, casting a tranquil glow over the scenic trails. The symphony of rustling leaves and chirping birds provides a soothing soundtrack, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the park's picturesque charm. The idyllic landscape of Tall Pines State Park captures the essence of nature's timeless allure, making it a stunning destination for those seeking solace and natural splendor.

One of the families we had the honor of photographing showcased a stunning play on blues and blacks, with an added touch of elegance from the mom's pink jewelry that beautifully complemented her daughter's blue dress. It was truly a sight to behold.

Adding an unexpected twist to the session, the family revealed that their daughter's name is Gabrielle and their son's name is Rocco - an intriguing coincidence, as those are the exact names of my own children. It's amazing how the universe has a way of weaving connections in the most unexpected places.
The whole experience was nothing short of magical, and we are thrilled to have been able to capture the love and joy shared by this wonderful family in such a captivating backdrop.

 One thing I love capturing is family sessions! I think it's great to have portraits done with you and your children. It's important. One day, these may be the only memories you have. I would know, as I recently lost someone special to me. A mentor. A friend.Most of the locations that I know in South Jersey and use in my photo sessions, were from exploring South Jersey with my mentor. He helped me meet other local historians and assisted me with the books that I published. I will forever be grateful for everything I learned. My heart is broken and I am praying for his family and that he is in peace. I WILL NEVER FORGET MY DEAR FRIEND. Now, I have photographs left behind. My treasures. This is all that is left and it makes me sad. On a happier note, here's a family session I did not too long ago. As you see with these sessions, we try to mix it up and add variety. Typically, we get the important family shot.. then portraits with mom, portraits with dad, the kids and then both mom and dad together.

With this family, we danced, we twirled, we smiled, we played in this stunning light in Sewell! The golden rays of the sun illuminated the picturesque surroundings as the family exuded joy and laughter. Against the backdrop of Sewell's natural beauty, we captured moments that shimmered with love and happiness.
As the sun dipped lower in the sky, casting a warm glow over the landscape, the family's playful energy was infectious. We spun around in the soft, ethereal light, freezing moments that encapsulated the bond and connection shared by each family member.

It's all about location and light for me. As you see, there is beautiful backlighting at this place in the Washington Township, New Jersey Area. Great light= great photos. I love capturing families and the love they share with one another!I am all about emotion.  I love relaxed sessions. I want my customers to feel relaxed and know they are getting the best out of their sessions. We will take care of it all!   As you can see, we do quite a variety in our sessions.

I Will Bring Princess Dresses .

If we have time after our family sessions, we usually will swap out int o a pretty dress or two!!! Two wardrobe changes here for little girl! We really do like switching things up for our customers. Mommy and Me Maternity Sessions! In Philadelphia

 These mommy and me sessions in PHILLY are going to be awesome!!!

I am so excited to announce our 2018 Mommy and me sessions this year! We've tried to make it affordable at all levels this year! These Philadelphia sessions will take place at our signature location. Our soft backgrounds and twinkling lights tend to draw most folks in. They are show stopper images. Most families, used these photographs on their Christmas Cards in the past year. My goal is to capture the bond you have with your children. This city location is absolutely safe. We make sure of it and fine for most ages 2 and up. However, if wanting to bring your baby along for this capture. No problem! We will just ask that you hold them or sit with them. In terms of posing, we have you covered.

A mommy and me photo shoot is a special and memorable way to capture the unique bond between a mother and her child. Here are some tips to help you prepare for your photo shoot:

1. Choose a location: Decide on a location that reflects the mood you want to create for the shoot. This could be a natural setting like a park or a beach, or an indoor location like a studio or your home.

2. Coordinate outfits: Consider coordinating outfits for both you and your child. You don't have to match exactly, but wearing complementary colors or patterns can make for a visually pleasing photo.

3. Bring props: Consider bringing some props to add interest to the photos. This could be anything from a favorite book to a bouquet of flowers.

4. Relax and have fun: Remember that the most important thing is to relax and have fun! This will help you and your child feel comfortable and natural in front of the camera, which will lead to better photos.

Dresses and attire

We got you and can coordinate for your Broad Street Photoshoot.

We will be offering some gowns for mom. Think simple and clean colors and lines. For girls attending.. (daughters) our Tutu du Monde and Dollcake dresses will be on hand for these sessions. We provide  sizes from 1 to 16.  Dads if attending.. sorry, you are on your own.   If you would like to utilize one of our Anna Triant gowns, Adrianna Ostrowski or any of the more high end gowns from our collection, you may do so for an additional rental fee. We do have SOME boys clothing. Mostly suits from sizes 2 to 7, so please inquire if you would like utilize them.

 Mommy and Me sessions will take place on March 24th. Rain date will be March 25th and time will run from 4pm to 6:30pm. Each session will last about 20 minutes long (it's all we need).
