 Who doesn't love the movie, Breakfast at Tiffany's? Audrey Hepburn in an elegant updo... Classy and sophisticated clothing. It was a dawn of the new age in the 60's. A booming economy after World War II.  The start of the baby boomer generation. I love true elegance. It's what our photography company in the Delaware Valley is all about. This is why we offer the styling and dress selection for all our clients. We have tremendous offerings. From vintage, to classic, to elegant, to maternity.. from headpieces... right down to the socks to wear.

Our goal for 2018, is to provide girls, women and boys this service from head to toe and offer the best boutique offerings in the South Jersey region.I truly believe that what you wear, can make or break your photography session. For me, it's all about the details.   We want you to truly look your best. This young lady came out for a themed Breakfast at Tiffany's shoot in Philadelphia, which is attached to the cosmopolitan Bellevue Hotel.

I find the Bellevue hotel one of the most beautiful hotels in the city. Go in and just look at their bathrooms.. they are even out of this world. A bathroom, folks!!! You could probably literally eat off the floor..  and I find bathrooms disgusting! I'm sure most do. However, this would be an exception.This precious girls mom and I got together for a shoot in the city and we had this concept for a long time. The only thing I regret is not getting the traditional baby blue/Tiffany bag to do a shoot with and utilize as a prop. We planned to and they were closed.

This session was done on a whim!I used a different focal length for this shoot. I traditionally like to use my 200mm 1.8L lens, but I decided to pull out my 55mm Zeiss, which I fall more and more in love with every time I use it! Ifind it works beautiful in tight areas and less chromatic aberration, across the board aka CA in the industry. I tend to work with both Sony and Canon bodies anymore, but traditionally I love Sony bodies in the city. I just think they perform better in low light situations.

Shooting Star Photography LLC had the honor of capturing a heartwarming family photo shoot on the iconic 13th Street in Philadelphia. The session was nothing short of a miracle as the family came together after years of living in different cities.

The neutral backdrop of the urban street provided the perfect canvas to showcase the genuine love and connection between the family members. Our experienced photographers skillfully captured the laughter, embraces, and joyful tears that filled the air during the session.

Wow! I can't believe it's been a few months since I even updated this blog here. It has been SUPER DUPER LOOPER BUSY.  That's why. We're having so much fun this year! Lots of great new locations, some new and old faces.. lots of neat themes, dresses the whole nine! We're now heading into our beach season.  Beach is one of my favorite things to capture and am fortunate to live by a beach that is 20 minutes from my own house!  We're also doing some mermaid sessions this year and have teamed up with a local photographer out of Lancaster, Pa.

(CHECK HER OUT) She is plain amazing and am fortunate enough to call her one of my best buddies!! Another of my favorites from this session.. wearing an Anna Triant couture dress!!  As the season progresses, we head into doing more family-type more portraits.  I figured I would start off with this sweet little family that I was fortunate enough to photograph back in December.  

Yep, that's how far I am behind in getting sessions up on here!  I love capturing the essence and personality of families and all members! We usually have a great time! Although this one was tough. I believe it was under 20 degrees out, haha. You wouldn't really know it by the look of how they are posing, but trust me there were shivers galore going on here!We set off  to our journey... in City of Brotherly LOVE, in Philly and it was probably one of the COLDEST sessions to date.  This is an awesome street around Christmas season (generally, after Thanksgiving) as there are Christmas lights everywhere and I mean everywhere.

However, it was so cold we kind of made this a VERY VERY VERY quick session as our plan was to stay near sunset/dusk when they came on.  The kids shown here,  I have to say... were tremendous troopers as they were photographed without their jackets off.  My very own assistant got frost bite from this day and had to sit out of this session.  

Me... PFFFFT I laugh at the cold and hot temperatures. I love photography so much that I could do this every hour of every day!!! Excited for our upcoming Hippy Van/Ice Cream Shoot, Peonies , Mermaid and Beach sessions in South Jersey!  All have been sold out!  It's going to be an AWESOME Summer! A Maternity Session at Greenwich Lake, New Jersey

South Jersey Maternity Photographer going strong!

Everyone knows I go a bit over the top with everything! I like fancy, crazy and whimsical things and I don't half-ass anything. I give 110% to everything I do. My work is my blood. I love photography with a passion and enjoy learning new things about this art every single day. This is one expensive "hobby" to get into.. Gear, education, the works... However, I find it rewarding. I find it keeps my on my toes all the time. One day is always different from the next and is why it has held my interest for so long and why I turned this love into a business. I truly do, live, eat and breathe photography. I am always doing something whether it's shooting, marketing, taking a class, from morning to the wee hours of the night (and this is suppose to be a part time business).

 I'm getting somewhere I promise here... Last year, was my first full calendar year in business. Many ups and downs and twists and turns.  It's been a interesting business journey to say the least. The bad outweighs the good and would say very minimal bad occurred or happened and even that I take as a learning lesson to keep improving and doing and giving better.  

This 2017 year, is going to be probably my most exciting year.  New locations, new dresses and just a different way of doing business.. and it excites me, as it should excite you. Below, is my very dramatic "best of maternity" in 2016.

We stylized this session to put more emphasis on the kids while the surrounding fall foliage in Winslow New Jersey came to life.

If you do wear our offerings...

• I send out a questionnaire to all customers, even to special/mini sessions. It helps me to get to know you and your family a little better. I like capturing personality of people and this helps me to get to know my clients.

• This questionnaire is also pretty awesome because YOU can tell me what you expect to get out of your session.

• I ask for sizes.

• I often times can email a client what I am thinking of having their child wearing.  If not the case, I bring a whole truckload of dresses to choose from based around the theme and setting.

HOW TO ARRIVE TO YOUR STYLIZED SESSION

• I do recommend a very fresh-faced look. NO makeup, well-moisturized skin. Lipgloss or chapstick to keep lips moist and from cracking during our session.

• In terms of hair, I like long and loose curls. Nothing crazy or dramatic. I honestly love capturing kids for who they really are and I prefer a more natural approach. No long hair, no problem. We love short hair, too! Simple and fresh cut is always a plus about a week before your session.I can provide headpieces that will coordinate with your dresses. Just ask!

• I do suggest leggings if it is cold out. We can generally hide them under the dresses.  I do provide shawls or furs for extra comfort during the cold winter months.

• Shoe choices...  I prefer neutrals.. silver, gold, black, brown, taupe.  They will go with anything and not be too distractive of an element in your photographs.

• Try and wear neutral undergarments so that you aren't having any crazy patterns or colors bleed through your clothing. IE. No black bras with a white tshirt... Unless, you are a rebel.. Then rock it.

 As you see above, a very simple and easy preparation guide. I provide a wardrobe tent when on location for privacy in getting changed. I truly want my customers to have a seamless experience from start to finish. I will pretty much take care of everything. We all know that going back and forth with your photographer in the Philadelphia, New Jersey and Delaware region, with certain dates to hold your session can be quite daunting. All the back and forth with emails takes up your valuable time and even the photographer's (for this time of year... DEFINITELY!)  I wanted to streamline my service offerings and I did try out a scheduling feature in the past.. and had a bad experience with it. It was still very daunting and old school and it even messed up some scheduling with clients.. which is no bueno. Of course, I did reach out and resolved the issue as any business person would do! I tested out Big Cartel recently and so far am very happy with the results. I am able to make easy changes and it's a simple process for my clients.. so it's a win win in my book.. The simple the better for everyone! This service will allow customers to book and reserve their sessions and to see what dates are available. Big game changer for everyone involved.

 After retainer is paid, I follow up with client to schedule their time, discuss locations and wardrobe for their session. If you haven't heard I provide gowns, dresses, some suits for boys etc etc.  It's a fun little option for my clients.These are the only dates available for next year as I told folks I was doing about 40 of them for 2017 and that's it!
